Fun Fact: Orcas are also known as killer whales but they’re not a whale at all! The largest member of the dolphin family, the orca is one of the top predators of the sea and is the 6th member of our Endangered Species spotlight. Despite their dolphin status, they are also victims of whaling, ignoring the international bans already in place. Some fishermen view orcas as competition, as ocean pests who are decreasing their fishery supplies, and intentionally killing the whales. Sounds a little selfish and a lot ironic really!
